Prince Harry and his American fiancee Meghan Markle have chosen New York-based fashion and celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski as the photographer for their wedding next month, Kensington Palace has confirmed.
Lubomirski shot the couple’s engagement photos, and is a former protege of Mario Testino, famed for his Vanity Fair portraits of Harry’s late mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
“I could not be more thrilled or honoured to photograph this historic occasion,” Lubomirski said in a statement. “Having taken Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story.”
It is widely believed in photography circles that Testino would have been a dead cert for the job had he not been embroiled in damaging sexual assault allegations from another of his assistants. Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour recently disclosed he and Bruce Weber, another veteran fashion photographer had been dropped by the publication.
Prince Harry and Markle, 36, who starred in the US TV legal drama Suits, are currently planning their big day and will tie the knot in Windsor on 19 May.
