Harry to Quit Military in Megxit Deal

The Duke of Sussex fought in Afghanistan on the frontline, but is now severing his official ties to the military as he quits royal life completely. Harry spent 10 years in the forces, and once said how his experience in the Army would stay with him for the rest of his life. Former First Sea Lord, Lord West expressed his regret over Harry stepping down from his military appointments. “The whole situation is extremely sad and I think it is unfortunate, after his splendid service in the military, that he will now no longer be involved with the military in the UK,” he told ITV News. When Harry left the Army in 2015, he vowed to always maintain his links with his fellow servicemen and women. “Luckily for me, I will continue to wear the uniform and mix with fellow servicemen and women for the rest of my life, helping where I can,” he said. Meghan Markle and Mum Doria Ragland Launch Grenfell Cookbook

Doria Ragland, the Duchess of Sussex’s mother has appeared in public for the first time alongside her daughter and Prince Harry since their royal wedding in May to launch a cookbook for survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire which killed 72 people. The book launch which took place in the grounds of the couple’s official home, Kensington Palace will raise funds for the Hubb Community Project created last summer by women seeking somewhere to cook fresh food for their families and friends following the tragic blaze which engulfed the 24-storey social housing block in west London. Meghan’s support for the project is her first solo charitable endeavour since becoming a member of Britain’s royal family. She has a passion for cooking and used her clout to secure a publisher for the book for which she also penned the foreword. The Grenfell fire was Britain’s deadliest residential fire since WWII and there was criticism that the authorities were slow to provide new permanent accommodation for many of the survivors.
